Provincial Nominee Program of Nova Scotia

Being one of the four original provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia offers a special program of Provincial Nominee for all individuals who aspire to reside in Canada. The program is named PNP Nova Scotia that allows individuals from all across the world to apply and get nominated for the stable settlement in the regions of Nova Scotia of Canada. 

 

Nova Scotia is the sister province of Ontario, New Brunswick, and Quebec that together constituted the Dominion of Canada in 1867. The early explorers named the region ‘Acadia’ while the name changed to the Latin word meaning ‘New Scotland’ to the brief claims laid by Scotland to the region in the period of 1620s. 

 

The region prominently covers the Nova Scotia peninsula, Cape Breton Island, and various small adjacent islands with Halifax as its capital. Nova Scotia runs its own PNP program in Canada beings its eminent part which is usually known as NSNP, which is abbreviated for Nova Scotia Nominee Program. It is through this program the newbies who are skilled and experienced according to their program of interest are nominated by the guidelines of NSNP so that they can immigrate to Nova Scotia. 

 

Under NSNP there are 2 routes that can be followed by the individual to settle within the province of Nova Scotia:

 

  1. The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)- The steps included to apply via this route are: 

 

  • Get a job offer.
  • Gather all the required documents. 
  • Submit the application to the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration (NSOI).
  • Get the nomination from NSOI. 

 

  1. The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)- This route inculcates some steps to be followed as mentioned below: 

 

  • Get a job offer.
  • Get through the stage of verification on the employer being genuine of Nova Scotia. 
  • Seek assistance from a settlement service organization for a settlement plan. 
  • Provide all the relevant documents and files. 
  • Submission of endorsement application by the employer to NSOI. 
  • Candidate endorsement by NSOI.

Nova Scotia PNP Available Pathways

  1. There are around 8 streams available under Nova Scotia PNP:

     

    1. Entrepreneur- Experienced business owners or senior managers aiming to settle in Nova Scotia can fulfill their dreams via this stream. They should hold the stable aim to either establish a new business or purchase or share a partnership in the existing one. Also, the aspirant must be active in regular business deals. The application to this stream is by invitation only and the entrepreneur might be nominated for Canadian permanent residence after operating the business for 1 year. 

     

    1. International Graduate Entrepreneur- Graduates of either the Niva Scotia Community College or of a Nova Scotia University who already acquired a business or start-up in the province in the operation state of 1 year are eligible to apply for this stream by invitation only. 

     

    1. Labour Market Priorities for Physicians- This is linked with the Federal Express Entry System. The approved candidates via an approved offer from Nova Scotia’s public health authorities- the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) or the Izaak Walton Killam Health Centre (IWK) that have received an LOI from the NSOI are eligible for this stream. 

     

    1. Nova Scotia Experince: Express Entry- It is linked with the Federal Express Entry System. The stream is applicable for highly skilled individuals that aims at permanent settlement in Nova Scotia. They should highly own a year working experince in Nova Scotia in a high skilled occupation. 

     

    1. Novascotia Labour Market Priorities- It is also linked with the Federal Express Entry System. The candidates of Express Entry who fulfill the requirements of provincial labor might be issued an invitation of Letter of Interest (LOI) from NSOI. The candidates who received LOI from NSOI are eligible to apply to the stream. 

     

    1. Occupations in Demand- This includes the Target specific NOCC occupations that are in high demand in the labor market of the province. As of now, the targetted occupations are NOC 3413 which includes nurses, aides, orderlies, and patient service associates, and NOC 7511 which includes Transport truck drivers. 

     

    1. Physician- This stream is open to recruiting and retaining physicians that include general practitioners, specialists, and family physicians owing the required skills for the positions that; they had been unable to fill with a Canadian PR or Citizen of Canada. This recruitment or retainment is done by the Nova Scotia Health Authority or the Izaak Health Centre. 

     

    1. Skilled Worker- Hiring skilled workers that have recently graduated by any of the international students is done under this domain. This hiring works only if the position which has to be filled doesn’t hold the capability to be filled locally. 

     

    Moreover, an Express Entry candidate who secures a successful PNP nomination through any of the Express Entry-aligned PNP streams automatically gets 600 CRS points. This could be a life changer for the ones who deliberately want to be a permanent candidate of Canada as CSR abbreviated for Comprehensive Ranking System is the deciding factor for the shortlisting of the profiles for Canada PR application.
